Yin Yang Su Wha
Ground. Signal. Code. Notation - a video installation by Chan Sook Choi.
JungFeldt made the identity and brochure for the projection of the video artwork "Yin Yang Su Wha" by Chan Sook Choi. The event was curated by Keum Art Projects. It was supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Asian Pazifik Forum Berlin, Asia culture center, the Republic of Korea's Ministerium for culture, sport and tourism and the Humboldt Forum (Berlin Castle).
The design
The video artwork by Chan Sook Choi explored the hidden energies of the Berlin Castle – Yin Yang, Water, and Fire. The artwork was projected on the Humboldt Forum after sunset and was screened all night until sunrise. The identity of the flyer was inspired by the artworks concept, its elements and the special conditions of the projection. To highlight that the event takes place after dark, we decided to print the flyer on black paper. The text was written in silver to create a glowing effect against the black background and to also represent the light installation.
The printed material
We designed the flyer and the catalogue for Yin Yang Su Wha. For the flyer we chose a silver colour on black paper, illustrating light and night from the video installation projected on the facade of the Berliner Schloss. The installation was projected from 9 pm to 5 am from date 15 - 18 May. We designed the catalogue using a limited palette of colours deriving from her artwork. The layout was based on the horizontal principle of the video.
